THE TALISKER WHISKY ATLANTIC CHALLENGE

 

The Race:

Organised by Atlantic Campaigns, the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge comprises of 3000 miles backbreaking, journey across the Atlantic Ocean. 

Early December 2022, we will leave San Sebastian in La Gomera, Canary Islands, Spain. As we head west we will undertake a solid routine of two hours rowing two hours rest constantly and unsupported for 24 hours per day to Nelson’s Dockyard, English Harbour, Antigua & Barbuda. 

We will complete:

  • In excess of 1.5 million oar strokes over a race

  • Burn over 5000 calories per day, while trying to consume 10 litres of water each day

  • Lose approximately 12kg during the entirety of the row

  • Use the toilet facilities (a bucket) in front of each other

  • Withstand up to 20ft high waves

No wonder more people have climbed Mt Everest than rowed an ocean!
